"Welcome to the website of Phoenix CPC, We are a company that specialises in cathodic protection and the life extension of structures".

Phoenix CPC Ltd provides corrosion investigation and mitigation services to the Oil & Gas and Industrial sectors to minimise deterioration of assets by metallic corrosion.

With a combined experience of over 28 years in corrosion investigation, mitigative design, application of preventative measures and ongoing monitoring.
Phoenix CPC has worked with some of the industry leaders in the field of Cathodic Protection and corrosion mitigation.

''At Phoenix CPC we aim to provide the best possible value to our clients and at the same time guaranteeing the highest quality of services available in the field of Cathodic Protection''.

We can provide survey, diagnostic testing and specification services for the repair and protection of highway bridges, civil engineering structures, buildings, ports and petrochemical facilities at risk of corrosion.
In particular we specialise in the design and specification of cathodic protection systems, including both galvanic anode and impressed current systems; for reinforced concrete structures, steel framed buildings, harbour piling and buried steel structures.

Our staff have experience of all manner of schemes and have worked on some of the world’s largest cathodic protection systems, which have been installed on major bridges, terminals and port infrastructure.
We have also been involved in specialised installations for heritage and listed building structures and our expertise covers systems for both new build and retrofit or rehabilitation schemes.
We can provide experienced personnel to engineer repair and cathodic protection projects, from investigation and design through to commissioning and ongoing operation.

Cathodic protection (CP) is a technique used to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making it the cathode of an electrochemical cell.
A simple method of protection connects the metal to be protected to a more easily corroded "sacrificial metal" to act as the anode. The sacrificial metal then corrodes instead of the protected metal.
For structures such as long pipelines, where passive galvanic cathodic protection is not adequate, an external DC electrical power source is used to provide sufficient current.

Cathodic protection systems protect a wide range of metallic structures in various environments.
Common applications are: steel water or fuel pipelines and steel storage tanks such as home water heaters; steel pier piles; ship and boat hulls; offshore oil platforms and onshore oil well casings;
offshore wind farm foundations and metal reinforcement bars in concrete buildings and structures. Another common application is in galvanized steel, in which a sacrificial coating of zinc on steel parts protects them from rust.

Cathodic protection can, in some cases, prevent stress corrosion cracking.

Land Based Cathodic Protection Services

With a wide range of inhouse experience, phoenix can offer a variety of onshore CP services, these include;

  • Cathodic Protection Surveys
  • CIPS and DCVG Surveys
  • Fault Investigation and Rectification
  • System Design
  • Material Supply
  • System Repair and Installation

Installation And Maintenance

Our team of qualified cathodic protection engineers provide a specialist corrosion protection service, which covers feasibility studies, engineering design, installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Cathodic Protection from Phoenix CPC will help prevent corrosion and breakdown, while increasing the service life of metallic assets.

  • Cost effective designs to minimise the expenses involved in environmental clean-up and plant repair
  • Safeguards against corrosion and provides additional asset protection
  • Pipeline conditions monitored, using Close Interval Potential Surveys (CIPS) and Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG) survey methods, providing accurate GPS for low protection locations and damage along any given pipeline
  • Test facilities installed at regular intervals
  • The installation of Surge Arrestors and Isolation Flange Kits to ensure isolation between the cathodic protection system, above ground pipework and grounding mats to ensure protection is achieved.

Subsea Cathodic Protection Services

We can conduct both ROV and Trailing Wire methods. Our subsea equipment, along with our new Fawkes CP Software, has been designed and built using the extensive experience and knowledge of our engineers. Phoenix offers the complete offshore CP inspection package, which includes;

  • CP Equipment
  • Data Acquisition Software
  • Experienced and Qualified Engineers
  • Data Processing and Reporting
